Pablo Trindade
He is an Adjunct Professor with a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal Fluminense University (2004), a master's degree in Neuroimmunology from the Federal Fluminense University (2006), and a doctorate in Sciences (Biophysics) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2010). He is a permanent faculty member of the Postgraduate Program in Medicine: Pathological Anatomy (UFRJ). He also works as a collaborating professor in the Postgraduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology (UNIRIO). He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal Fluminense University (2011-2012) studying the role of microglial cells in the development of central connections. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore – USA (2012-2015) studying long-term alterations induced by ethanol in astroglial cells. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the D'Or Institute for Research and Education (2015-2018), studying inflammatory aspects of human astrocytes obtained from iPS cells in an experimental model of schizophrenia. He was a Visiting Professor in the Postgraduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (2018-2020). Currently, he coordinates the Laboratory of Neuroimmunology and Development (LaNiD), where studies on reactive astrogliosis and cellular senescence are conducted in models of fetal alcohol syndrome, schizophrenia, and aging. He has been a Young Scientist of Our State fellow of FAPERJ since 2022.

Course Offerings
MenuThe course involves informational lessons, such as the taxonomic, morphological, and biological fundamentals of human parasites, which form the basis for the study of the epidemiology, prophylaxis, and eradication of parasitic diseases. Greater emphasis will be placed on biology, the parasite-host relationship, diagnosis, therapeutic resources, and prophylaxis.
Group dynamics classes will include seminars, guided studies, and other activities on the most relevant parasitic endemic diseases.
